Gig Review

White Trash Ambition up first. The other two bands were youngsters who brought all their friends from college. This left WTA with a nearly non-existant crowd as most of the punters sat in the bar. I 'assumed the postion', and about a dozen other people stood at the back. Needless to say, there wasn't much of an atmosphere, but WTA still played a good set - their fuzzy, surging and bouncy take on rock (which sounds a little American to me) is growing on me.

You know what Small Town Paranoia want - in 5 years time they aim to be shouting "Hello Wembley" to 10,000 screaming kids. Stadium rock. It's competant but oh so obvious. I did warm to them a touch as the set progressed as they were putting so much into it, but the music still left me cold.

The Croft was rammed by the time Kings of Bohemia took to the stage. They sounded like they were trapped in the late 70s - early Talking Heads meet late Buzzcocks. Pleasane enough but no edge. I left early to catch up on my sleep.
